The region provides a great opportunity for members to appreciate the views and activities that the Gippsland region can provide. Please make the effort to come and join your fellow members for a great weekend away. Please let the committee know as soon as possible if you are coming so that the club can make arrangements and bookings. 26th-July 4th. Federation 40 years tour, Touring rally based in Bendigo mixing the Old with the Gold October 30th-Nov. 2nd Lakes & Craters District Camperdown Victoria A few committee members are putting together what should be a top weekend, to celebrate the Club's 21st Birthday, scheduled for later in the year. The Club is holding the event on what is generally referred to as the 'Melbourne Cup long weekend'. We know that not all states have a public holiday to celebrate the running of the Melbourne Cup or take advantage of a long week end by taking the Monday off. However, the Club is hoping that you will make the time and add this special occasion to your diary. By giving you plenty of advanced notice it is hoped that you will consider joining us to commemorate this special event and participate in all the organised club activities. The dates for the event are Sat 30 October Tuesday 2 November inclusive. It is sure to be a fun and memorable weekend for all. In conjunction with the event we are looking for any old photos from the early days of the club. Any photos submitted will be returned in good condition. Also we are hoping to receive donated prizes for our special Effort Draw. Our weekend will entail lovely scenic and relaxing drives. It will be a wonderful opportunity to catch up with friends old and new. And much, much more ???? Why Camperdown, I hear you ask? In September 1989, a gathering of 17 SVCC members, (including children) held a meeting to talk over recent events within the club. The meeting turned into the inaugural meeting of a group of keen, motivated enthusiasts and a new club, the Standard Vanguard Enthusiasts Guild (SVEG) was formed. The rest as they say is history .. From Kate Folliard & Co. Please take note there is a local Festival on at the same weekend, which means plenty of entertainment and things to do, but please book accommodation early. -Kate Folliard “Extreme Fire Danger”, may cause events to be cancelled! |
